The second team suffered a 9 wicket thrashing at Bridgend despite a terrific 79 from Owen Thomas. Rogerstone took almost 30 overs to reach three figures, but from that point the diminutive right hander cut loose with some classy shots. His 79 more than doubled his highest for the club and was by some margin the best innings played in the side this season. Thomas put on 79 for the third wicket with Andrew Trinder who made 41. Rogerstone started defending their total of 167 in tidy fashion, but after Jobi Matthew left the attack, things fell apart. The highlight of a disappointing bowling performance being captain Mark Harnden barking an order to young fielder Callum Nel.... "Cal. Guard the trees."
